Tour Overview

Daywise Itinerary

  • Arrive at Dehradun Airport & drive to our lodge at Sursingdhar.
  • Check in to the lodge by afternoon & relax for some time.
  • Depending upon time, we will head out for a short hike to the pine forest.
  • Evening at leisure.
  • Dinner & Overnight in the lodge.
  • Today post breakfast, we will drive to the road head at Surkanda Devi Temple.
  • The trek begins on a paved route all the way up till Surkanda.
  • With magnificent views of the Tehri district & forests on all sides, we reach Surkanda Devi Temple top.
  • From the temple, one will get a panoramic view of Himalayas towards the North & underlying valleys of Doon.
  • Surkanda Devi is one of the most celebrated Shakti Peeth’s in Uttarakhand.
  • Post temple darshan, we will start the trek downhill & reach the road head at Kaddukhal.
  • Drive from Kaddukhal to Dhanaulti, a celebrated hillstation of Uttarakhand.
  • Dhanaulti is also home to the famous Dhanaulti Eco Park, a sight for the eyes. Guests can opt for adventure activities like sky walking, rock climbing and flying fox while you are here.
  • Drive back to Sursingdhar.
  • Dinner & Overnight in the lodge.
  • Today post breakfast, we will drive to Tehri Lake in a drive of 45 mins    
  • Indulge in water sports like jet skiing, speed boat, banana ride, etc
  • Drive from Tehri lake to explore the New Tehri town.
  • Spend some time at the local market & get insight into the culture & handicraft of New Tehri region.
  • Return to the lodge & evening at leisure.
  • Bonfire in the evening
  • Dinner & Overnight in the lodge.
  • Post breakfast check out from Sursingdhar, for your next stop, the scenic village of Kund.
  • This is a beautiful Himalayan drive to this beautiful mountain lodge.
  • Check into the lodge for lunch and relax.
  • In the afternoon set out for a short walk by the Mandakini river & spend your time by the peaceful views.
  • Bonfire & briefing session on the trek to Deoriatal.
  • Dinner & Overnight in lodge.  
  • Post breakfast we drive to Sari village the starting point of our trek.
  • From Sari we begin the trek to Deoriatal, a high altitude lake.
  • Spend few hours by this magnificent lake, watching the Chaukhamba peak reflect in its still waters.
  • Lunch by the lake & amidst beautiful Himalayan panorama.
  • We will now trek back to the road head at Sari & be driven to Ukhimath.
  • In Ukhimath we will visit Omkareshwar temple, the winter seat of Kedarnath Ji.
  • After spending some time by this legendary temple, we will drive back to the lodge.
  • Evening at leisure.
  • Dinner & Overnight in the lodge.
  • Wake up to witness the morning views of the Kedarnath peak as we head for a short birding hike wih a local.
  • Post breakfast we drive to Tijuginarayan temple, which holds special significance in the Hindu Mythology. Tijuginarayan, is where Lord Shiva & Gauri were married.
  • From Trijuginarayan drive to Narain Koti Temple Complex, dedicated to Laxmi Narain & the ‘ Nav grah’ temple.
  • From the temple we will drive to Kalimath, via Guptakashi, home to the famous Gauri Temple.
  • Kalimath, this temple is regarded as a divine place of Goddess Kali  and  a shakti peeth. 
  • Return to the lodge by late afternoon/ evening.
  • Evening at leisure.
  • Bonfire & Dinner.
  • Overnight in the lodge.
  • Post breakfast, check out & drive to our River side camp at Jayalgarh.
  • Enjoy the scenic beauty of this campsite by the banks of River Alaknanda.
  • Relish a wholesome lunch by the dining area with the river Alaknanda gushing its water.
  • Towards late afternoon we will head for a Village tour of Jayalgarh.
  • Experience the local tongue, their lifestyle & the crops they produce.
  • Return to the campsite to enjoy a gala time by the bonfire.
  • Dinner & Overnight in the tent.
  • Post breakfast, we drive to Srinagar, the starting point of our rafting stretch.
  • This rafting stretch of 12 Kms on River Alaknanda is fun filled & ideal for families.
  • The stretch ends right at the campsite.
  • Head for lunch & relax by the Alaknanda River & its serene surroundings.
  • Enjoy a fun round of stream walk & body surfing right below the campsite.
  • One can also try their hands at Duckie rides (Inlfatable kayaks) on Alaknanda.
  • Return to the campsite by evening.
  • Bonfire & Dinner.
  • Overnight in the campsite.
  • Post breakfast, check out from Jayalgarh & be driven to Dehradun Airport.
  • Trip ends here.

Registration

The tour booking will be confirmed only upon receipt of a non-refundable amount of 20% of the tour cost, in addition to the charges such as air fares, rail fares, etc. along with completed personal information form or an email confirming your intent to travel.

  • 50% of the tour cost to be paid 45 days before date of departure.
  • Balance 30% of the tour cost to be paid 15 days prior to the departure.
  • The trip will be considered as confirmed only if there is no default in the above payment procedure.

Cancellation Policy

In the event of any cancellation by you, the initial deposit amount paid, shall stand forfeited and further cancellation shall be levied as per the following terms:

  • 6 weeks before date of departure: 20% of tour cost + Air / Rail cancellation charges.
  • 4 to 6 weeks before date of departure: 50% of tour cost + Air / Rail cancellation charges.
  • 2 to 4 weeks before date of departure: 80% of tour cost + Air / Rail cancellation charges.
  • 2 weeks before date of departure: 100% of tour cost + Air / Rail cancellation charges (Will be considered as no show).

All dispute arising under or in connection with it, shall be governed by the laws then prevailing in India, and shall be under the jurisdiction of the courts in Sangli.

*During peak season some hotel bookings are non-refundable. Hence, in such a case the amount paid will not be refunded.

Refund Policy

Payments will be refunded within 10 to 15 working days after cancellation through a bank transfer.
Liability:
1. Certain trips organised by Jungle Lore may require various levels of physical fitness and travellers must ensure that they understand the level and nature of physical activity, fitness and endurance required for a chosen tour prior to the commencement of the same.
2. Travellers should keep in mind that certain tours are organised in places where medical assistance may not be easily available, so those dependant on medicines should stock up.
3. Travellers should ensure that prior joining a chosen trip, to the best of their knowledge they are not suffering from any medical or physical ailment or condition that compromises their ability to undertake and complete the same.
4. Jungle Lore, its owners and employees would not be responsible for any loss, liability, damage, expenses, injury, sickness or death occasioned to a fellow travellers except for lack of provision of amenities, services and infrastructure which are to be provided by the organisers themselves as described on www.junglelore.net. The organisers would not be responsible for such liabilities arising out of acts of god, earthquake, flood, storm, fire, rain, landslide, government restrictions, strikes or bandhs, defect of motor vehicles, acts of third party, external aggression, law and order disturbances, negligence of any travellers or travellers failing to heed the instructions of the organisers / activity guides, any risks that are normally attendant on a particular activity and any matters that are outside the control of the organisers.
5. Tours are subject to weather and natural conditions which are beyond the control of the organisers. To ensure the safety of the travellers it may be necessary to cancel or postpone a tour (or any part thereof) after the tour has been paid for by the travellers. Reimbursements of payments in such cases will be subject to the fixed costs of the tour barring which all other amounts will be reimbursed.
