Daywise Itinerary

Pick up from Bagdogra (IXB) Airport and transfer to Phuentsholing (165 Kms, 03 to 04 Hrs) Meet & Greet upon arrival at Phuntsholing (298Mts / 977 Fts) - The Frontier town, it is a thriving commercial centre, situated directly at the base of Himalayan foothills. It is a fascinating place where different ethnic groups mingle prominently Indian, Bhutanese and Nepalese. Being the border town, Phuntsholing serves as the convenient entry/exit point for Bhutan and also the important link to visit the Indian states of West Bengal, Sikkim and Assam. Depending on your arrival time our escort will assist you in procurement of your permit to Bhutan. The permit issuance takes time depending on the rush one has to stand in queue for procurement of permit. In case the permit is not processed on the day of arrival then it can be issued the next day before you start for the next destination. Overnight at Hotel.

After breakfast and after completing your Visa / Permit formalities assisted by our Bhutan representative who will assist you in boarding your vehicle for transfer to Thimphu (2320Mts / 7656Fts, 180 Kms / 06 to 07 Hrs) in case if your permit are not done on day of arrival, Thimphu is the capital town of Bhutan and the centre of government, religion and commerce, Thimphu is a unique city with unusual mixture of modern development alongside ancient traditions. Although not what one expects from a capital city, Thimphu is still a fitting and lively place. Home to civil servants, expatriates and monk bodies, Thimphu maintains a strong national character in its architectural style. On arrival in Thimphu, Evening National Library (Closed on Saturday , Sunday & National Holiday), Institute for Zorig Chusum (Traditional Art & Craft School-Closed on Saturday , Sunday, National Holiday & During Summer & Winter Vacations), Textiles Museum (Handicrafts Shops - Closed on Saturday, Sunday & National Holiday). Overnight at the Hotel.

After breakfasts go for Thimphu sightseeing covering Memorial Chorten,  Tashichho Dzong, Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodong),Changangkha Lhakhang (Monastery), Motithang Takin Preservation Centre presently closed for tourist, Drupthob Goemba / Zilukha Nunnery, Zangthopelri Lhakhang (Monastery). Overnight at the Hotel.

Refer to GENERAL POINTS ON BHUTAN OPERATION for Pink Permit  After breakfast drive to Punakha (1200 Mts / 3936Fts, 77 Kms / 03 to 3½ Hrs) / Wangdi (Wangdiphodrang) (1350 Mts / 4430Fts, 70 Kms / 03 to 3½ Hrs). Punakha / Wangdi is the last town on the highway before entering Central Bhutan. The drive is over DochuLa pass (3080Mts / 10102 Fts) which is very scenic with a fascinating view of mountains of Bhutan. Stopping briefly here to take in the view and admire the Chorten, Mani wall, and Prayer flags which decorate the highest point on the road. If skies are clear, the following peaks can be seen from this Pass (Left to Right): Mt. Masagang (7,158Mts / 23478Fts), Mt. Tsendagang (6,960Mts / 22829Fts), Mt. Terigang (7,060Mts / 23157Fts), Mt. Jejegangphugang (7,158Mts / 23478Fts), Mt. Kangphugang (7,170Mts / 23518 Fts), Mt. Zong Huang (7,060Mts / 23157Fts), a table mountain that dominates the isolated region of Lunana - Finally Mt.Gangkar Puensum (7,497Mts / 24590 Fts), the highest peak in Bhutan. Visit Punakha Dzong, Chimi Lhakhang (Monastery). Overnight at the Hotel in Wangdi.

After breakfast transfer to Paro (2134 Mts / 7000Fts, 135 Kms / 05 Hrs). On arrival at Paro, check in to the hotel. Afternoon free at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel.

After breakfast go for Paro Sightseeing covering Drukgyel Dzong presently closed for tourist, Ta Dzong (National Museum-Closed on Saturday, Sunday & National Holiday), Rinpung Dzong, Kyichu Lhakhang (Monastery), back to the hotel. Overnight at the Hotel.

PARO – HAA VALLEY - PARO (65 KMS / 02 HRS – ONE WAY) Day excursion to Haa Valley (04-05 hrs to & fro). This valley remains one of Bhutan’s most pristine regions. At the Chuzom confluence, the road ascends the dramatic Wang Chu valley where there is time to view the Dobji Dzong and if time permits, hike around its high ramparts. The road into Haa winds up through quaint villages and thick conifer forests before leading into a valley carpeted with fields of millet, barley, potato and wheat. The patchwork fields are dotted with farmhouses all adorned with intricately painted cornices and door and window frames. Visits to both Chhundu Lhakhang and Lhakhang Karpo provide an insight into the history of the valley. There are arrangements to see the Wangchulo Dzong as well. The winding road then ascends through pastureland past grazing yaks, before reaching the 3,900m Chele La pass. Descending into the Paro Valley, the scenery transforms from sub-Alpine pasture brilliant with wild mountain flowers, to lush forests of blue pine, cypress, larch, fir and rhododendron. Overnight at the Hotel.

After an enriching stay in Paro, embark on a scenic drive back to Phuentsholing, retracing your path through Bhutan’s mesmerizing landscapes. As you descend from the high-altitude valleys, enjoy the changing scenery from lush forests to rolling foothills. Upon arrival in Phuentsholing, the vibrant border town that serves as the gateway between Bhutan and India, settle in for a relaxing evening. This final stop allows you to reflect on your journey through Bhutan, where ancient traditions and natural beauty combine to create an unforgettable experience. Overnight stay in Phuentsholing before your departure.

Registration

The tour booking will be confirmed only upon receipt of a non-refundable amount of 20% of the tour cost, in addition to the charges such as air fares, rail fares, etc. along with completed personal information form or an email confirming your intent to travel.

  • 50% of the tour cost to be paid 45 days before date of departure.
  • Balance 30% of the tour cost to be paid 15 days prior to the departure.
  • The trip will be considered as confirmed only if there is no default in the above payment procedure.

Cancellation Policy

In the event of any cancellation by you, the initial deposit amount paid, shall stand forfeited and further cancellation shall be levied as per the following terms:

  • 6 weeks before date of departure: 20% of tour cost + Air / Rail cancellation charges.
  • 4 to 6 weeks before date of departure: 50% of tour cost + Air / Rail cancellation charges.
  • 2 to 4 weeks before date of departure: 80% of tour cost + Air / Rail cancellation charges.
  • 2 weeks before date of departure: 100% of tour cost + Air / Rail cancellation charges (Will be considered as no show).

All dispute arising under or in connection with it, shall be governed by the laws then prevailing in India, and shall be under the jurisdiction of the courts in Sangli.

*During peak season some hotel bookings are non-refundable. Hence, in such a case the amount paid will not be refunded.

Refund Policy

Payments will be refunded within 10 to 15 working days after cancellation through a bank transfer.
Liability:
1. Certain trips organised by Jungle Lore may require various levels of physical fitness and travellers must ensure that they understand the level and nature of physical activity, fitness and endurance required for a chosen tour prior to the commencement of the same.
2. Travellers should keep in mind that certain tours are organised in places where medical assistance may not be easily available, so those dependant on medicines should stock up.
3. Travellers should ensure that prior joining a chosen trip, to the best of their knowledge they are not suffering from any medical or physical ailment or condition that compromises their ability to undertake and complete the same.
4. Jungle Lore, its owners and employees would not be responsible for any loss, liability, damage, expenses, injury, sickness or death occasioned to a fellow travellers except for lack of provision of amenities, services and infrastructure which are to be provided by the organisers themselves as described on www.junglelore.net. The organisers would not be responsible for such liabilities arising out of acts of god, earthquake, flood, storm, fire, rain, landslide, government restrictions, strikes or bandhs, defect of motor vehicles, acts of third party, external aggression, law and order disturbances, negligence of any travellers or travellers failing to heed the instructions of the organisers / activity guides, any risks that are normally attendant on a particular activity and any matters that are outside the control of the organisers.
5. Tours are subject to weather and natural conditions which are beyond the control of the organisers. To ensure the safety of the travellers it may be necessary to cancel or postpone a tour (or any part thereof) after the tour has been paid for by the travellers. Reimbursements of payments in such cases will be subject to the fixed costs of the tour barring which all other amounts will be reimbursed.
