Living root bridges
A species of Indian Rubber Tree - Ficus Elastica thrives along the streams and rivers in the lower reaches of Khasi hills. Since the rivers come down 3000 ft along the precipitous slopes, these trees have adapted themselves to the heavy soil erosion and perch themselves on high boulders comfortably sending their roots down to the river.

Some of them are as old as 500 yrs and can hold more than 50 people at once.

We visit the 4th longest cave on the Indian Subcontinent, Mawluh Cave. This will be by far the most adventurous day of the trip. It showcases amazing formations like flowstones, stalactites, stalagmites, columns.
